Harold Feinstein Archive

The Challenge

After the passing of legendary photographer Harold Feinstein, his widow Judith, who looks after his archive, needed an online home that honored his legacy while making the work available for print sales, licensing, and exhibitions. This was as much web strategy consulting as it was website development — the estate needed guidance, not just someone to do development work.

My Approach

I designed the site to present an all-round overview of Harold's work. Naturally, the photography comes first — every layout decision serves the images. Besides the portfolios, I needed to present his work as an educator and integrate multimedia content that tells the story of his life and career.

E-commerce for poster sales runs through WooCommerce. The customized admin interface allows Judith to manage the site and the store independently.
